Administration to train youths for sports industry free of cost- Vishesh Sarangal

Jalandhar, August 8- The district administration will offer skill development training to the youths related to the sports industry free of cost.
Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal on Tuesday said that the administration had taken this initiative to ensure the local youths get skilled and employed in the sports industry of Jalandhar. He said that Punjab Skill Development Mission in association with Sports Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Excellence (SGMEA) would run several courses for the youth. He said that an MOU had already been signed with the SGMEA.
The DC further told that under these courses, training concerning stitching of gloves, apparel, handballs, bags, accessories, cricket balls, machine-stitched balls, and hand-stitched balls, will be offered to the youth by experts from the sports industry. He said that the classes would be held in the Multi-Skill Development Centre, Kapurthala Road, and following successful completion of the course, the youth will be employed in different sports industries. He appealed to youth for availing the benefit of the training. He reiterated his firm commitment to providing ample employment and skill development opportunities to unemployed youths and said that the district administration was making concerted efforts in this direction and sought their fulsome support.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Varinderpal Singh Bajwa said that interested 10th passed youth aged between 18 and 45 were eligible for these free training courses. He said that aspirants could contact 70875-19281 and 98786-60673 for additional information.
