Chandigarh: September 18 (STN) Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today formally tendered his resignation to the Governor today. The resignation was discussed earlier in the day. The Captain resigned from the post of Chief Minister to the Governor after meeting the MLAs and Ministers of his dera. He told a news conference that he felt humiliated and resigned.

Capt Amarinder Singh has tendered his resignation to the Governor. There is talk that the Congress may make Sunil Jakhar the Chief Minister. However, Navjot Sidhu and Cabinet Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa are also in the running. For now, the Legislative Party will meet in the evening.
