Comrade Taggar and Comrade Bassi express deep sorrow, regret and sympathy on the demise of Comrade Gurdev Singh Dardi

Comrade Dardi is always CPI (M). and remained loyal to the Punjab Kisan Sabha

Jalandhar May 7: (STN) (M) State Secretariat Member District Jalandhar – Kapurthala Secretary and former General Secretary Punjab Kisan Sabha Comrade Lehmbar Singh Taggar and CPI (M). Comrade Gurchetan Singh Bassi, Member, State Secretariat, Punjab and President, Punjab Kisan Sabha, has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Comrade Gurdev Singh Dardi, a prominent farmer and Communist leader of Sangrur District, Barnala. A press note issued by Comrade Taggar said that Comrade Gurdev Singh Dardi remained loyal and active to the peasant workers, other working people, peasant movement and communist movement all his life. Comrade Taggar said that my relationship with him has been going on since 1989 when I was on duty in Punjab Kisan Sabha. Throughout my tenure as General Secretary of Punjab Kisan Sabha (1991 to 2012) Comrade Dardi remained active with me in Kisan Sabha. He continued to hold the post of Joint Secretary in Punjab Kisan Sabha, Member of All India Kisan Committee (AIKC), Secretary of District Sangrur Kisan Sabha and other responsibilities. He is a CPI (M) activist. (M.) District Committee Sangrur long time member. Comrade Taggar said that the special praise of Comrade Dardi was that he was a member of CPI (M). He was a staunch opponent of divisive parties like Comrade Lyallpuri, Pasala, Chopra etc. and always stood by the party. If any small organizational decisions were taken by the party regarding comrade Dardi, he gladly accepted them. He used to talk to me on the phone every two months. With his departure, the party and the Kisan Sabha have suffered huge losses. We extend our deepest condolences and sympathy to the family and party of Fellow Dardi on behalf of District Committee Jalandhar Kapurthala. Comrade Sukhpreet Singh Johal, Prashotam Bilga Prakash Clare, Gurdev Singh Bassi, Gurparamjit Kaur Taggar, Mela Singh Roorkee, Master Mool Chand, Varinderpal Singh Kala, Mehar Singh Khurlapur, Lachhman Singh Johal and other comrades also expressed their deepest condolences on the death of Comrade Dardi. Sympathy has been expressed with the family.
