Jalandhar, September 15(STN)- In order to provide effective and transparent services to the people, Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal on Friday directed the officials to expedite the disposal of applications filed by the general public with their departments and ensure time-bound services to the people.
Chairing a meeting with heads of various departments including Transport, Social Security, Water Resources, health, Sewerage Board, Sewa Kendra, Rural Development and Panchayat and others, the Deputy Commissioner said that the administration was committed to serving the people and any delay in delivering services to the people will not be tolerated at any cost.
He asked the senior officers to personally oversee the process of clearing applications by their departments so that people could not suffer in their offices to get their work done.
Deputy Commissioner also asked them to record the reason for the inordinate delay in processing the application of the general public. He pointed out that unnecessary objections lead to harassment of the people and if anybody is found indulging in causing inconvenience to them, will not be spared.
Sarangal clearly told them that there must not be any kind of mismanagement in the functioning of the departments. He motivated the officers to facilitate the people in getting in their day-to-day work done easily which would help to instill trust among the people in the government and administration. He also asked the health department to ensure weekly review of 31 functioning OOAT clinics.
Deputy Commissioner said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was committed to implementing pro-people and development-oriented policies for benefitting the people.
