Jalandhar, July 11(STN)- In a bid to save maximum lives from the fury of rains, Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal on Tuesday reached out to people living close to Dhussi Bandh and urged them to share maximum information about those still stuck in the river water so that their rescue can be ensured at the earliest.
Interacting with the people, the DC told them to leave their homes and proceed to safe places as nothing is more important in their lives. He said that the state government has made elaborate arrangements for rescued people and all the necessary facilities were being provided to them.
The DC called upon people living near the banks of the river not to take the situation lightly and move to safer places until water receded from their respective villages.
He further appealed to people to cooperate with the administration so that the current situation can be handled properly. He mentioned that the NDRF, SDRF and army has already been roped in to ensure safety of people; thereby with collective efforts the present situation could be won over.
