Five-time Chief Minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal passes away in Mohali

Jalandhar, April 25 (STN): The former Chief Minister of Punjab and Stalwart politician of Punjab Sardar Parkash Singh Badal reported dead at a private hospital in Mohali at nearly 8:15 p.m. on April 25, 2023. He was patriarch of Shiromani Akali Dal and five-time CM of Punjab.

Sardar Parkash Singh Badal was admitted to the hospital on Sunday after he found difficulty in breathing. He was 95 when he took his last breath.

In 1947 Parkash Singh Badal started his political career. Firstly Badal became Sarpanch of village Badal, after this he became Chairman of Block Samiti, Lambi. In 1957 Parkash Singh Badal from Shiromani Akali Dal was elected for first time in for the Punjab Vidhan Sabha.

According to some reports, Sardar Parkash Singh Badal was Punjab’s Chief Minister from 1970 to 1971, from 1977 to 1980, from 1997 to 2002, and lastly from 2007 to 2017. In 2015 he was also awarded with the second highest civilian award in India ‘Padma Vibhushan’ by the Government of India.
