Jalandhar: Complete ban on display of weapons by Deputy Commissioner Police

Jalandhar, 3 October(STN): Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Jalandhar, Ankur Gupta, using the powers under Section 144 and Section 32 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, has imposed a complete ban on the display of firearms in the area by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar under Arms Rules 2016.

According to the orders issued, it is strictly prohibited to carry and display weapons by any person on the occasion of marriages/parties in public, religious places, marriage palaces/hotels/halls etc and other gathering places.

The order also states that no person shall promote weapons and sing songs glorifying violence/fighting and take photographs or make video clips with weapons and upload them on social media/Facebook/Whatsapp, doing so is strictly prohibited. Furthermore, no person shall make hate speech against any community.
This order will remain in force till 31 December 2023.
