Phillaur, 25 July(STN): Renowned Congress leader, former MLA from Noormahal Constituency, former Chairman of Mandikaran Punjab, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Punjab Gurbinder Singh Atwal has died this morning. He was 72 years old. Went to visit Srinagar with his friends. When his plane was about to reach Srinagar, suddenly his health deteriorated. He suffered a brain hemorrhage.
A doctor traveling in the plane immediately gave him first aid. As soon as he reached Srinagar, he was taken to a big hospital where he underwent a major surgery, but today i.e. Tuesday at around 10 am, Gurbinder Singh Atwal passed away from the world forever. He left behind a full family of two sons besides his wife. His family lives in Canada. Atwal will be cremated at Phillaur on the arrival of relatives. When Atwal passed away, a wave of mourning spread in the area. At his home, his supporters were in a frenzy.
