Jalandhar, September 1(STN):In a crackdown against illegal colonies, a team of Jalandhar Development Authority (JDA) demolished nine illegal constructions on Friday early morning.
The demolition drive was conducted in villages, namely Pholriwal, Dhanal Kalan, Lambra and around 66-ft road in the presence of police force to avoid resistance at the spot .
JDA Chief Administrator said that zero tolerance was being adopted to unauthorised and unplanned development with a special focus on illegal colonies. He said this drive had been launched to take punitive action against those who were fleecing innocent residents by selling plots in these unauthorised colonies. He also added that JDA was planning more such drives in upcoming weeks and appealed to the general public not to purchase property /plots /buildings in unauthorised colonies.
The JDA Chief Administrator also added that as per the directions of the state government, the JDA will take strict action against any such colony or building coming up in its jurisdiction.
