The cheque bounce case amounting to worth Rs. 1 Crore 30 Lakhs has
been disposed off through compromise in National Lok Adalat.

JALANDHR: December,10(STN)As per the directions of National Legal Services Authority, Punjab State
Legal Services Authority and under the able guidance of Ms. Rupinderjit
Chahal, Ld. District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson DLSA Jalandhar,
Lok Adalat was held today on 11.12.2021 in the Judicial Court Complex,
Jalandhar, Phillaur and Nakodar. All type of Civil cases, matrimonial cases,
MACT cases, compoundable cases, traffic challans and Pre-litigative
cases of PSPCL, bank cases, BSNL etc. were taken up in the said Lok
Adalat.
In this regard, Ms. Rupinderjit Chahal, Ld. District & Sessions
Judge-cum-Chairperson DLSA Jalandhar informed that 21 Benches have
been constituted in Jalandhar, and one Bench at Phillaur and two Benches
at Nakodar were constituted. Total 13942 number of cases were taken up
in the Lok Adalat and 4624 number of cases have been dispose off on the
basis of compromise. The awards of 219122558 Rs. have been passed in
the Lok Adalat. Ms. Rupinderjit Chahal, Ld. District & Sessions Judgecum-Chairperson DLSA Jalandhar inspected all the benches constituted at
Jalandhar. Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Ld. CJM-cum-Secretary, DLSA Jalandhar
also accompanied her alongwith Sh. Amit Kumar Garg, Ld. CJM,
Jalandhar. In this Lok Adalat one Cheque bounce case of Rs. One Crore
Thirty Lakh (1,30,00000) was disposed off by way of compromise due to
the efforts of Sh. Shaminder Pal Singh, Ld. JMIC Jalandhar. Moreover, two
cases which were pending for 13 years and 10 years, respectively were
disposed off in the said Lok Adalat.
Ms. Rupinderjit Chahal, Ld. District & Sessions Judge-cumChairperson DLSA Jalandhar further informed that by way of Lok Adalat
people are able to get speedy justice. Decision of Lok Adalat is final and no
appeal can be filed against the decision of Lok Adalat. Decision is given
on the basis of compromise between both parties. Lok Adalats increase
brotherhood. Moreover, the Court fees paid by the applicant is also
refunded. She has further informed that next Lok Adalat will be held on
12.03.2022, in Jalandhar, Phillaur and Nakodar. The interested parties can
approach the Courts for disposal of pending cases in Lok Adalat.
In this regard, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Ld. CJM-cum-Secretary DLSA
Jalandhar informed that from time to time, the Lok Adalats are being
organized so that the matters can be disposed off by way of compromise.
