MP advocates to speed up RDSS to strengthen electricity supply infrastructure with Rs. 273.68 crore

Jalandhar , November 6(STN): Member Parliament from Jalandhar Sushil Kumar Rinku today said that the Punjab government would strengthen the electricity supply and distribution infrastructure of Jalandhar under the revamped distribution sector scheme ( RDSS) with Rs. 273.68 crore .
Today chairing the meeting of District Electricity committee meeting here at DAC along with MLA Raman Arora , MLA Sheetal Angural ( both members ) and Deputy commissioner Vishesh sarangal as member secretary, Mr. Rinku said that the aim of this scheme was to ensure loss reduction and system strengthening and modernisation of electricity supply .
Under that augmentation of sub stations , bifurcation of feeders , replacement of old conductors , additional HT lines and IT works so that consumers would be able to avail uninterrupted electricity supply .
The deputy commissioner informed that field work under loss reduction to be started soon after completion of the tender process .
He said that jalandhar district has been divided into four divisions namely Model Town , East , Cantt and West and a detailed road map has already been prepared to complete this task as soon as possible .
He also said that all 4 parameters like metering , loss reduction , system strengthening and modernisation will be completed in given time frame with total cost of 273 crore .
To further improve the supply of electricity in the district , bifurcation of 58 feeders will be done with Rs. 38.70 crore , feeders for cabling with 36.14 crore , new HT and LT lines with 31.14 crore , upgradation of power substation with Rs. 48.18 crore , upgradation of transmission lines of 72.39 KM with Rs. 25.25 crore .
The comprehensive plan comprised setting up of new sub stations, reconductoring HT and LT lines etc . Officials of PSPCL and administrations were also present in the meeting .
