Phillaur: Kisan unions seek support of government with a deadline till month end

Phillaur, 25 September (STN): Many acres of fertile land of farmers near Satluj river, Shani Mandir Phillaur has become sandy due to flood water, making it difficult to plant crops again. The problem was not being solved, finally the farmers started taking sand and soil from their land under the supervision of Doaba Kisan Union and Bhartiya Kisan Union arrived to make this area clean and fertile again. On this occasion, Punjab Doaba Union President Manjeet Singh said that the behavior of the government is not good towards the farmers, he added that they did not get justice from the government, hence they just took away the excessive sand from the fields. Seeing the matter becoming serious, Mining Manager Jaswinder Singh also reached the spot. The farmers asked for a deadline of 30.09.2023 and assured that the problem will be resolved as soon as possible by talking to higher officials.
