Punjab government will ensure all-round development of villages: Balkar Singh

Jalandhar, 30 July(STN): Participating in various programs at Madaran, Chogawan and Bidhipur today, Punjab Local Government Minister Balkar Singh said that the Punjab government was ensuring all-round development of villages and there was no dearth of funds for development works.

Joining the Christian community in the program of Christ Church (CNI) at village Madaraan, Cabinet Minister Balkar Singh congratulated the gathering and said that the Punjab government is committed to the welfare and prosperity of all sections of the society, for which Welfare schemes are being implemented. He said that new impetus is being given to the development works of villages so that necessary facilities and infrastructure can be established in these areas. He said that there is no dearth of funds for development works and many works have been started in the villages of Kartarpur constituency, adding that new works are being started in future also. The cabinet minister said that Lord Jesus Christ gave the message of humanity and peace to the people, which will always inspire everyone to follow the path of humanity.

Local Government Minister Balkar Singh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, public welfare decisions are being taken continuously. He said that yesterday the Punjab cabinet has approved the launch of Resolution of Model Fair Price Shops under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) to deliver Atta/Wheat to the beneficiaries. A revised scheme for distribution of packaged atta/packaged wheat to households was also approved. He said that this would be a more dignified way for the beneficiaries to get the packaged atta/packaged wheat as the beneficiary would not have to stand in long queues especially in inclement weather conditions.

Taking part in the sports competition at village Chogawan, Cabinet Minister Balkar Singh raised the moral of the players and said that the Punjab government is laying emphasis on giving due respect to the sportspersons and establishing high level sports infrastructure in every field.
