Chandigarh: 22, May (STN) Punjab School Education Minister Shri Vijay Inder Singla today said that all the schools, including government, semi-government and private schools in the state, will remain closed from May 24 to June 23 for the summer holidays.
The cabinet minister said that educational institutions were already closed for students due to the Kovid-19 epidemic and now school teachers and other staff have also been vacationed for a month.
The cabinet minister said that the Congress government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is taking necessary measures along with constant precautions to ensure safety of the people during the epidemic. He said that in addition to taking necessary steps to ensure the safety of students, his government has worked hard to raise the standard of education in schools, which is reflected in the expansion of admissions and improvement in results.
Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that after the closure of the school from last year due to Kovid, the teachers of the Education Department are working on mobile applications and TV. Teaching students with the help of different online mediums including channels. He further said that this year too, teachers are helping students in all possible ways to make syllabus online.
The cabinet minister also appealed to the teachers to stay connected with the students during the holidays and to make the students and parents aware of the safety protocols to prevent the corona virus.
