Chandigarh: September 14 (STN)- Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab, State General Secretary Jeevan Gupta said that the rally organized by Bhagwant Mann regarding the inauguration of this School of Eminence was also flop and in this flop rally Bhagwant Mann and Kejriwal were also present. There is a smell of a scam of crores of rupees by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal by converting the smart school already running in Gurunagar Amritsar into a School of Eminence by spending crores of rupees and whitewashing the school.
Jeevan Gupta said that the Punjab government should pay attention to the infrastructure of the already running schools, because in many government schools of Punjab, children are still studying sitting on sacks. Many school buildings are in need of renovation and many schools are in a dilapidated condition, which needs to be repaired. But Bhagwant Mann government has nothing to do with it. They are wasting money on already running smart schools for their false applause. Instead of wasting money on building prestigious schools, the Punjab government should have spent it on maintenance of existing government schools and recruitment of new teachers.
Jeevan Gupta said that the smart school already running in Gurunagar by Bhagwant Mann was renovated by spending more than Rs 6.5 crore and its name was changed to School of Eminence. Calling upon the people of Punjab to analyze the false promises and actions of the Punjab Government, Jeevan Gupta said that today people from all departments of Punjab including farmers and other organizations are protesting against the Punjab Government. The Punjab government is running away from fulfilling the election promises made to the people.
